In short: for self-study, a free app with a 20-question, 25-minute exam mode and explanations in your language is enough. Pravachi and Oson Prava give the most for free, Avto Test PRO has the widest range of exam modes, AvtoPrava24 and Oson Prava include a 3D autodrome, and TezPrava adds a tutor. Everything below was checked against the services' websites and app store pages in October 2026.
What matters when choosing
There are dozens of traffic-rules apps in Uzbekistan, and nearly all of them promise a first-time pass. They differ in four ways.
Question bank. There is no official app. Developers who name a source point to the traffic rules on lex.uz and say they have no government link. That explains why one app has 1,238 questions and another 1,290. Do not chase the biggest number; regular updates matter more, so check the "last updated" date in the store.
Exam mode. The real test is 20 questions in 25 minutes, and you need at least 18 correct answers to pass. Our guide to the theory exam explains the format in detail. A good simulator copies these conditions. A different timer or a lower pass mark trains you at the wrong pace.
Explanations in your language. The exam can be taken in Uzbek or Russian, and in Karakalpakstan also in Karakalpak. Study in the language you will sit the exam in, and check that the explanations, not just the questions, are available in it.
What is free. Many services give tickets away and charge for mistake review and topic practice. That is fine, but know it before you start.
Comparison: format and languages

Each platform in brief
Oson Prava
The largest audience among platforms with their own website: 500K+ Android installs and about 124,000 subscribers on its Telegram channel. It runs in the browser, as apps and through a Telegram bot, with no ads. You can start without signing up; an account is needed to save progress and to pay. The "Real exam" mode gives a random 20-question ticket with a 25:00 timer and ends the attempt at the third mistake. The free Matiz plan includes the whole question bank, tickets, exam mode, mistake review and Oktagon online duels; explanations and voice breakdowns are available up to a limit, and the 3D autodrome for a limited time each day. Paid plans are one-off payments with no auto-renewal: Qora Gentra ("Black Gentra"), from 38,000 soʻm a week, removes the limits on voice and the autodrome, and the 42 video lessons come with the Malibu plan, from 120,000 soʻm a week (prices as of October 2026). Voice breakdowns and videos are in Uzbek only; text explanations are also available in Russian. Good for Uzbek speakers who would rather listen than read. More in our Oson Prava review; catalogue entry: Oson Prava.
Yoʻl harakati qoidalari (Alibek Saymov)
One of the most downloaded apps, with more than a million Android installs. It contains the full rules text, signs, fines, tests with comments and voice explanations, and an autodrome simulator, and it works offline. The interface is in Uzbek (Latin and Cyrillic) and Russian. It shows ads on Android. Its description does not mention an exam mode, so pair it with another service for mock exams. Good as a reference book and practice tool in one. Catalogue entry.
Avto Exam 2
Also over a million installs. A simple trainer: 100+ tickets, a marathon through 1,000+ questions, an exam mode, comments on questions and mistake review. The description is in Uzbek only, and it has ads. We found no iOS version from the same developer. Good if all you need is a free set of tickets on Android. Catalogue entry.
Avto Test PRO
The most exam modes: a 20-question "state exam" mode, a separate A1 mode, a 50-question exam and a free test of 10 to 150 questions. It has video explanations, weak-topic targeting, duels and assignments that a training-centre tutor can give students inside the app. It runs on Android, iOS and Windows but has no browser version. Core tests are free and some features are sold in-app; prices are not on the website. Good for people who like to drill in many formats. Catalogue entry.
Pravachi
One of the most open free tiers: the rules, tickets and "Real exam" mode (20 questions, 25 minutes) open immediately, without registration. Each question has an explanation and a link to the rule clause it tests. According to the website, topic practice, mistake review and analytics are Premium, although the store listings say all features are free. Good for anyone who wants to see which rule an answer comes from. Catalogue entry.
PravaMax
Website and apps with 1,277+ questions, AI mistake analysis and live duels. The F1–F5 simulation looks like the exam booth, but its timer is 20 minutes, while the real exam gives you 25. Only starter tests are free; the rest needs a subscription, and the price appears after you log in. Good for people who enjoy competition. Catalogue entry.
PTEST
Website and apps that copy the format exactly: 20 questions in 25 minutes with two mistakes allowed, plus a 50-question, 45-minute version for drivers retaking the test after a ban. The exam simulation, mistake review and saved questions are free. Topic and ticket tests, the marathon and custom tests are Premium; the price is not visible without logging in. The iOS listing mentions video lessons. Good for regular mock exams. Catalogue entry.
Onless
An online theory school: a 20-question, 25-minute exam mode, expert text breakdowns and audio breakdowns. The service itself notes that breakdowns are not available for every question. It is the only platform here with Karakalpak. Free access plus a 24-hour VIP trial after sign-up; VIP costs 45,990 soʻm for 15 days, 68,990 for 30, 80,990 for 45 and 103,990 for 75 days. The Android app is still small (1K+ installs), and there is no iOS version. Good for Karakalpak speakers or anyone who wants explanations with reasons and exceptions. Catalogue entry.
AvtoPrava24
Covers both parts of the exam. Theory: 1,238 questions with explanations in Russian and Uzbek and an exam mode of 20 questions, 25 minutes, 18 correct to pass. Practice: a 3D route of 12 exercises in exam order, driven in a Chevrolet Cobalt, with the emergency-stop signal given at a random moment. It runs in the browser, on iOS and in Telegram; the website links to Google Play, but the app page did not open as of October 2026. The site says "Free", while the public offer lists a free ECO plan, SPORT at 63,000 soʻm a month and TURBO at 123,000. The offer does not say what each plan includes. Good for learning the autodrome route in advance. Catalogue entry.
TezPrava
A tutored course rather than a quiz app: you are assigned a tutor who sets daily homework, checks your mistakes and explains hard questions in voice messages. The price is set by the training centre you enrol through; the course is not sold in the app. The website promises a "100% guarantee", but treat such promises with care: you sit the exam, not the platform. Good for people who struggle to study without supervision. Catalogue entry.
Which one fits your situation
Free only. Pravachi or Oson Prava's free plan for tickets and exam mode; Oson Prava also gives you Uzbek voice breakdowns up to a limit, but its video lessons are paid. PTEST's free exam simulation works well for check-up attempts.
Explanations in Russian. AvtoPrava24 states that every question is explained in both Russian and Uzbek. Pravachi, Avto Test PRO and PravaMax also work in Russian. Oson Prava has text explanations in Russian, but its voice breakdowns and video lessons are Uzbek only. Before paying, open a few questions and check that the explanation is translated, not just the question.
You want a teacher. TezPrava with a tutor, or a regular driving school. Since 1 February 2026, theory classes are no longer compulsory for categories A and B, but many people find a group easier. Schools with convenient timetables are in our Tashkent driving schools catalogue.
You want to understand the autodrome early. AvtoPrava24 shows the whole route in exam order. Oson Prava and the Yoʻl harakati qoidalari app also have 3D simulators.
You are retaking after a ban. You need the 50-question, 45-minute format, which PTEST has. Avto Test PRO also has a 50-question mode.
Whichever app you pick, the plan is the same: topics, then tickets, then mock exams until you score 19–20 out of 20 consistently. How to spread that over several weeks is covered in how to pass the theory test first time. The full list of services, including ones not compared here, is in our online learning section.
An app does not replace an instructor
Every platform in this comparison prepares you for theory. Even the best 3D autodrome will not teach you clutch control on the hill or the size of the car in the parking box. Only time behind the wheel with an instructor does that. You can find one near home in our list of Tashkent instructors.
All data was checked on 19 October 2026. Services change prices, question counts and free tiers often, so confirm on the website before paying.
If you would like one driving school near you to handle both theory and practice, leave a request for school matching and we will suggest options for your district and schedule.
FAQ
Is there an official app for the theory test?
None of the services we checked is official. The developers state that they are not linked to any government body and base their questions on the traffic rules published on lex.uz. Wording and pictures in the real exam may differ from the app.
Which app is completely free?
You can prepare without paying in Pravachi (tickets and exam mode, no registration) and Oson Prava, where the whole question bank, tickets, exam mode and mistake review are free, and explanations and voice breakdowns are available up to a limit. The big offline ticket apps are free too but show ads. Data as of October 2026.
My app ends the test at the third mistake. Does the real exam?
The exam regulations contain no such rule: the test ends when all questions are answered or after 25 minutes. Practice apps stop at the third mistake because 18 correct answers are then out of reach.
Can an app prepare me for the autodrome?
Only for understanding the route and the order of exercises. AvtoPrava24, Oson Prava and the Yoʻl harakati qoidalari app have 3D simulators, but clutch control and a feel for the car's size come only from practice with an instructor.
Which platform has a real teacher?
Among the services we checked, TezPrava offers a personal tutor who sets daily homework and reviews mistakes; the course price is set by the training centre you enrol through. The other platforms are self-study tools.
